If you're new to the genre, maybe don't play on tactician. Generally, pretty much anything works pretty well, can't really think of any archetype that is not worth playing because it would be underpowered.
Rogues are really strong in this game, don't know where you've heard that. I started the game as a pyromancer and ended up playing a lightning magic rogue. The game lets you respec pretty easily in Act II and you don't really have to commit to anything. Listen to them, they'll give you a pretty good idea which companions will be interesting for you.ĭon't stress over builds. When you're in the character creator, you can listen to the character backstories. You'll see more of the story and you get to play around with more abilities.
